Pachmarhi
|
|
Place to Eat |
|
All the most congenial Places to Eat in Pachmarhi are run by M.P.T.D.C. The best of the bunch, by a long chalk, is at the Satpura
Retreat, although even there the food is of less note than the
bungalow's faded charm. If you're on a tight budget, a couple of cheap
little vegetarian cafes can be found in the small square above the bus
stand. |
|
Amaltas |
Near Tehsil. Quiet restaurant with predictable menu and
the town's only bar. |
|
China Bowl |
near Panchavati Huts. Standard
M.P.T.D.C.
restaurant, with a few
extra soups, chopsueys and chowmeins
thrown in for form. Open for breakfast- mainly cutlets, eggs and iddlis. |
|
Kalsa |
bottom end of bazaar off the main road. Inexpensive,
delicious Punjabi and
Chinese dishes served inside under strip lights or
in the garden. Beer available
in side room. Recommended. |
|
Mrignayani |
Gandhi Chowk. The most hygenic of the cheap thali
joints in the bazaar,
serving no-nonsense, fiery, pure-veg curries and
piping hot rotis from large
vats. |
|
Satpura Retreat |
Regular MPTDC range of veg and
non-veg food
dished up in TV loungeor al fresco on the atmospheric verandah. A bit of
a trek from
town if you're not staying here. Moderate. |
