KATHMANDU - BHADGAON

BHADGAON is a Newar city of 9th century. Visit the ancient gateway, Durbar Square, royal residential quarter of Bhupendra Malla, temple of Nytapole in pagoda style and other temples. Later visit BODHNATH,the 2500 years old Buddhist Stupa;a holy place for Tibetan Buddhists. Visit Pashupatinath temple with its erotic wooden carvings. Finally visit Dhulikhel, a small township with beautiful landscape.


KATHMANDU - GAIDA WILD LIFE CAMP

Gaida Wild Life Camp is situated inside the Royal Chitwan National Park which is the natural habitat of the Asiatic tiger & leopard. The wild life activities here include jungle drive, Short nature walks & night game viewing by spotlight. Sightseeing here includes one horned rhinoceros the elusive sloth bear, gaur four species of dear, wild boar giant lesser pied hornbill, marsh mugger and the rare gharial crocodile.


KATHMANDU - DHULIKHEL

Dhulikhel is a small township, 20 miles from Kathmandu, along the Chinese-built road which leads to the border. It is at an altitude of 6000 ft. and offers superb views of Cho Oyu in the east to Himalchuli in the west. On the way stop at a small village Thimi, known for its pottery and for the manufacture of masks. Also visit Bhadgaon,a Newar city of the 9th century. See the ancient gateway, Durbar Square, etc.


 

KATHMANDU - BODHNATH & CITY TOUR

Visit the temple of Bodhnath, the colossal Stupa, one of the largest in the world. This Stupa has the all seeing-eyes of the Buddha by king Mana Deva in expiation of his sins of the advice inset with prayer wheels. Also visit the Pashupatinath Temple which is noted for its erotic wood carvings of the struts. Also a city tour visiting Durbar Square,Hanuman Dhoka,ancient royal residential quarters etc.


KATHMANDU - CITY TOUR & PATAN

Visit the Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter,Mahadev and Parvati Temple and other temples. Then visit Patan,the old Newar city visiting Durbar Square, the Golden Gate, The sky piercing temple of Teleju, the statue of Yogendra Malla, temples, etc. Also visit Swayambhunath,the 2000 years old site with 5 dhyani Buddhas enshrined at the base of the Stupa.


DAKSHINKALI

This temple of the Goddess Kali lies 28 kms away from Kathmandu, at the Southern edge of the Kathmandu Valley. Devotees visit this temple each Tuesday and Saturday to make sacrificial offerings of chicken and goats to Goddess -Kali-. Later visit Chobar Gorge where Manjushri,the God of Wisdom , emptied the valley of its water. Also visit Kirtipur to see the old fortress which was the key to this valley.



PATAN

Visit the Old Newar City - the historic Durbar Square, see the Golden Gate,the sky piercing temple of Teleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla, other temples and old windows and carved balconies of wood, curio shops and bazaars. On return, visit Swayambhunath, the 2500 years old Buddhist temple.



KAKANI

Kakani is 29 kms northwest of Kathmandu on the road to Trishuli. From the hill-top,one gets an excellent view of Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and Gauri Shanker. In spring, wild flowers veil the hill. On a sunny day, suddenly getting engulfed by passing cloud can be an unusual experience.



NAGARKOT

Nagarkot is a small township at an altitude of about 7500 ft. It offers a spectacular view; from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east. On a fine day one can even see the tip of the Everest from here.



LUMBINI

In the village of Lumbini in Nepal, the Queen Mahamaya gave birth to Prince Siddhartha who later became the Buddha. Over 2000 years ago the Emperor Ashoka set up a commemorative pillar here. The pillar carries the inscription -Here the Buddha was born-. Another shrine preserves an ancient image depicting the nativity of the Lord.


POKHARA

Visit this beautiful valley to see its natural splendor. POKHARA - is wide and flat - enormous sunlit play ground covered by hills, lakes forests, rivers, waterfalls, caves and fields. In Pokhara, nature and culture blend beautifully to present a panorama unparalleled any-where else. 200 Km. west of Kathmandu or 200 Km north of Lumbini offers the famous Phewatal, boating, fishing and much more.
