WELCOMGROUP GURKHA HOUSEBOATS

The Welcomgroup has entered into a five-year franchise agreement with Gurkha Houseboats, owned by the Ghulam Wangnoo family, for six houseboats under its brand name. The house boats, with 17 double rooms, will be managed by the Wangnoo family under the brand name Welcomgroup Gurkha Houseboats. The houseboats will be located on the Nagin Lake in Srinagar. The most recent addition to this fleet is the 'Wazmul', which is actually the first houseboat to be built after a period of nine years, at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs. For the Welcomgroup this will mean a return to the strife-torn state after a gap of several years.
