A number of vegetarian restaurants along West
Car St. serve typical south Indian thalis, all of a
pretty dismal standard.
Hotel
Guru on East Car St. next to the tourist office is
the best place for a thali.
TTDC Hotel Tamil Nadu
has the only real restaurants in town, serving quite reasonable veg and
non-veg food. There's also an excellent bar with pleasant sea views.
