Getting Around 

Town buses ply between the temple and the bus stand from early morning untill late at night. Cycling is a good way of getting around town and out to Dhanushkodi. You may rent a bike.

Tiruchendur 

On the coast south of Tuticorin, this impressive shore temple is one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan and is very popular with pilgrims. You may be able to enter the inner sanctrums here and watch the enthusiastic proceedings. Be careful if they offer you a gulp  of the holy water- pouring it over your hands and rubbing them together joyously is an acceptable substitute for drinking it ! 

Perumal Temple
This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. 55 km away from the city  and is commonly visited by Vaishnavites.
