TOY TRAIN DARJEELING

The steam locomotive train running between New Jalpaiguri & Darjeeling covering 88 kms. and normally it takes 8 hrs. This train was started in 1881 recently this train got world heritage status. Mos of the locomotive which are in used was manufacture in Glasgow, UK in they year 1899 to 1928. At present the train can pull only 2 coches and
capacity of first class coach is 12\16 pax and 2nd class coach 30 pax.

Since last year diesel locomotive has been introduced and the train which runs between New Jalpaiguri & Darjeeling is run by diesel locomotive.

Departure NJP - 09.00 hrs.
Arriving Darjeeling - 16.00 hrs.
Departure Darjeeling - 09.15 hrs.
Arriving New Jalpaiguri - 16.15 hrs.

F.Y.I. on Above sector now operating only diesel locomotive not steam locomotive.

There is another train run between Kurseong & Darjeeling is having steam locomotive but in this train is only 2nd class.

Arriving Darjeeling - 10.00 hrs.
Departure Darjeeling - 15.00 hrs.
Arriving Kuresong - 18.00 hrs.
This Train covers following station and distance between each station is 8 to 10 kms.

New Jalpaiguri - Siliguri - Sukuna- Rangtang - Chunbhatti - Tindharia-
Gayabari - Mahanadi - Kuresong - Toong - Sonada - Ghoom - Darjeeling.
