More About India

Rajasthan››Bundi››General Info

Bundi, 39 kms north-west of Kota, has a good deal of panache and rustic charm. It was the capital of a major princely state during the heyday of the Rajputs. Kota itself was part of Bundi until its separation in 1624 at the instigation of the Mughal emperor, Jehangir. The town's Rajput legacy is well preserved in the massive fort, which broods over the town in the narrow valley below, and the imposing palace which stands beneath it. Bundi has a lot of interesting historic sites which attract the visitors.
