Chennai formerly known as Madras, the third largest metropolis city in India. The Guindy Links Golf Club is located in Chennai. The elevated greens are small to medium in size and are not very fast though the ball rolls a lot due to the dry weather-mainly due to a lack of water in the summer months. The best time to play here is after it rains and between September and February.

The Bangalore Golf Club is 14 km from the airport and is a lovely green course during the season. It is a par 71, 18-hole championship course that is 6,652 yards long. The course has small slow greens that slope from back to front. The greens are well guarded by bunkers that can be tricky on wayward approach shots. The fairways are narrow and have lots of trees. The toughest hole is the 10th one, which is 444 yards and plays into the teeth of the wind. It is a very narrow fairway and penalizes a bad drive (so be careful). The par 3, 13th hole is also a tricky hole -- it is 212 yards long and needs a straight long iron or fairway wood. The green is well guarded by a sand trap on the left, which leaves one in bogey country if your game takes you there.
